1. Nothing like being away from home for your birthday and no chance of going home for another week at least. Unless I speak immense amounts of English and get kicked out of the program :P

My parents called me this morning and I ended up crying when I hung up. Then had to explain to a monitor I was crying dans la roseraie (rose garden).

It’s been an incredibly overwhelming and terrible experience so far. I get so frustrated when I can’t remember simple words that I know I know.

Ah well, one week down, four to go.

  2. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :D:D:D

    Merci beaucoup!

  3. Bonjour!

So I’ve been at the program for almost a day. And now we’re not allowed to use any English… Je suis screwed. I get so overwhelmed when people getting speaking French that I just don’t say anything or contribute to conversations. Monitors come and talk to groups of us in French and I’m like.. please don’t look at me….

This is terrible. But hopefully by the end I’ll be better. I’m in a beginner group so instructions are given in English so far. At some point there will be no English.

  4. No internet in our rooms… outside getting eaten to death by bugs and a laptop that doesn’t hold power.. awesomesauce
